Mid-term Poster Review and Achievement Exchange for the 2025-2026 NEEMEC Project

On January 15, 2026, the "New Engineering Education Method Experiment and Construction Project" (NEEMEC), funded by the Ministry of Education, held its Mid-term Poster Review and Achievement Exchange at National Taiwan University. The event brought together 135 experts and project members to review execution progress and foster cross-institutional collaboration.

The morning session featured a keynote by Professor Chao-Tang Yu from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, who reviewed the institutional transformation journey from inception to tangible results. Project Principal Investigator Professor Chan Kuei-Yuan noted that NEEMEC has entered its eighth year, successfully guiding numerous institutions in restructuring their curricula to equip students with the ability to solve complex engineering problems. Professor Shang-Hsien Hsieh also presented updates on the "Green Engineering Interdisciplinary Talent Cultivation Project."

Two in-depth sessions on teaching practices were also held:

  • Curriculum Construction: Professor Fu-Ling Yang emphasized that instructional design should begin with the specific engineering challenges to be solved, and integrating AI technology into the development of teaching materials.
  • Learning Assessment: Professor Wen-Hsia Li shared a four-level analysis based on the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model to establish a scientific mechanism for measuring core competencies.

The event featured a poster exhibition showcasing 22 project teams, covering course map adjustments and thematic course cluster designs. This platform allowed teams to exchange ideas on bridging the gap between academia and industry. The afternoon session proceeded to the mid-term oral reviews, where expert reviewers provided specific guidance to ensure the impact of engineering education reforms.
